Use QY CAD Administrator to set user privileges

QY CAD Administrator is designed for an administrator to set privileges for other QY CAD users in the group.

1. Connect to the UDS PLM Download Server at https://download.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com/.

2. Log on using your WebKey username and password.

3. On the UDS PLM Download Server page, click QY CAD.

4. Expand Full products → Windows (64-bit) → 2021 → SptTools.

5. Select SptTools_2021.zip, select a location for the file, and click Download.

6. Unzip SptTools_2021.zip to any location.

7. From the SEAdmin folder, copy SEAdmin.exe to your \Program Files\UDS\QY CAD 2021\Program folder.

8. In the \Program Files\UDS\QY CAD 2021\Program folder, double-click the SEAdmin.exe file and start QY CAD Administrator.

   Note:

   If you have not changed the default location of the Options.xml file on the File Locations page of the QY CAD Options dialog box, the system informs you that no path has been set for the file. Click OK to dismiss the error message and open QY CAD Administrator. After you save your changes in QY CAD Administrator, the File Locations page updates to reflect the new name and location of the Options.xml file.

9. To the right of the option you want to set, click the corresponding cell in the Allow Override column.

10. On the menu, click Yes or No to give users the appropriate override privileges.

11. On the File menu, click Save.

12. In the Save As dialog box, specify the folder for the new configuration file. The location must be a URL, UNC, or shared network connection.

13. In the File name box, type a new name for the file.

14. Click Save.

15. Notify users to use the File Locations page to update the QY CAD Administrator file location to point to the appropriate configuration file.
