Install Fast Search

QY CAD data management has an index-based search, Fast Search, that enables you to quickly find your design data.

Install Fast Search on each Windows machine that hosts QY CAD files, but does not have QY CAD installed.

1. Verify that QY CAD is not installed.

   Note:

   Fast Search will not install if QY CAD is installed.

2. Verify that the Windows Search Service (WSS) is started.

   For details on WSS, see Microsoft TechNet.

3. Access Fast Search from the UDS PLM Download Server.

   A WebKey is required to log in to this site.

4. Click QY CAD, then expand Full Products→Windows (64-bit)→2021.

5. Download Fast Search and do one of the following:

   • To install at the default location, click Next.

   • To change the default installation location, click Change. Select a new location and click Next.

   • To install the English user interface on a non-English system, select Install English.

6. Click Install.

7. Click Finish.

   The system displays the Fast Search Configuration dialog box. Configure the search as explained in Configure Fast Search.
